The main character, Chloe King, is a teenager that on her sixteenth birthday discovers she has special strange powers.
A strange figure is shadowing her, and then kill her by throwing her from a tower.
Survived, she discovers that she belong to a very old breed, not to be fully human, and being chased by a group of assassins.
